Webaccess iPhone app requires buffalonas.com to connect
« on: November 25, 2010, 08:01:59 AM »

The iPhone app for Webaccess seems to not have a provision for supplying any domain name other than buffalonas.com.  Consequently, if I use a 3rd party dynamic DNS service such as dyndns, and thus forgo using buffalonas.com, it is impossible to point the iPhone app to my NAS.

It would be a simple feature to add: the ability to supply some URL other than buffalonas.com.  As an example, I use a url similar to http://mynas.homedns.org, and have my NAS and router configured accordingly (the router forwards port 80 traffic to my NAS at port 9000, as well as being configured to keep dyndns.org updated with my current dynamic IP address).

Just a thought.....

I'm sure there will be updates coming for this app. I'll go ahead and suggest that. Thanks for the input.
