Performed a Restore/Erase to delete my settings and it deleted my data

using the web interface I went to management, then clicked on Restore/Erase

Clicked the Initialize Button.

Which said the folllowing

"This initializes the LinkStation's settings. All settings are restored to their factory defaults. Saved data is not erased."

I wanted my setting restored to default. Now all my data is gone. how does this happen?

On what device? What firmware? And where is your backup?
