I have a LS420D set to RAID1 with 2x 1TB 7200 RPM drives. Would it work upgrading it to faster and bigger drives?  For example, if I replaced them with 2TB 10000 RPM drives.

Hi there, from what I have read, the spindle speed increase is not going to improve the performance overall of the nas, if you look at the cost per % of gain.
IF the nas can handle SSD's then the cost would be worth it, in my opinion.

user of 3x LS-WXL, 1xLS220D but not that impressed with the reliability of the Seagate disks they use...
