Hello all, recently posted hoping someone might have ideas on how to recover my TS5410 - I'm not sure if I posted it to the "Solved" or if it was moved there but still trying to resolve the issue.

Here is the original post - I did not see how I could move it back from solved.

https://forums.buffalotech.com/index.php?topic=45475.0

I did receive an email from non-warranty support yesterday with a series of steps to try - first with drives installed and since that did not resolve the issues, instructions said I should pull all 4 drives and run again to see if it is a hardware issue.

When I run the series of power button (click 3 times, then hold for 10 seconds) with the drives there is no change, it spins up all the drives eventually beeps, LCD backlight goes off and restarts.

When I run the steps without the drives then the machine boots up to where it gets to the I61 message and I can access the drivesetup admin page but obviously no drives to setup.

I hope to recover the system to ensure backups were completed and then if needs to be rebuilt can do that but really need to recover with the data intact.

I've been researching this for several days and have yet to find exactly this issue but hoping someone in the forum might have ideas on what to try next.

Thanks
Jack

Still waiting to hear back from support but in meantime still researching options.

I'm not sure if this would be a firmware issue where reflashing firmware might get it back to running or a boot issue on the drives.  I had downloaded the TSUpdater for this model and updated the ini file NoFormatting = 0 but still not 100% confident this will not impact the data.

Would it hurt to force an update?  It is behind on the firmware.  Will this help in any way or leave alone?

Thanks

Kudos to the non-warranty support, they gave it a shot and appreciate the efforts.

At this point the issue seems to be with the drives/data and remaining option is to format the drives and bring the system back up.  I need to confirm my backups were good before I wipe the drives.  Curious if anyone has used UFS Raid Recovery and what data enclosure you might have used for the 4 drives.  I just ordered the following for the drives:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H11KXCL?ref=ppx_pt2_dt_b_prod_image&th=1

Hoping it will work to plug the 4 drives back into my pc and run the software.  Once I ensure latest files are backed up then I'm good with formatting to see if the system restores.  Anyone having used that software or something similar would be great to know lessons learned or enclosure used.

Thanks

If the softwair raid + filesystem are intact you should be able to access it by connecting them to a PC running linux using that dock.
