LinkStation Live hard drive constantly running...

As the title says, the hard drive in my Linkstation (HS-DH500GL) is continuously chugging, which is slowing down my home network. Google has shown a few people having this issue, and it has been suggested that disabling the media server will correct this problem.

My questions...is this a known issue and if so is a firmware update in development? I haven't disabled the media server yet, so I can't comment on if this is a working solution, but are there any other suggested solutions?

Thank you for any help,

Robb

The drive keeps working because the media server is indexing the drive for changes. Disabling the media server entirely will stop that, but you can also change it from auto to manual.

I'm having the same problem with the drive running all the time but I do not have the media streaming enabled?????

Why is the drive running all the time??
