Linkstation 220D - 7 Red Flashes
« on: July 25, 2021, 04:11:45 PM »
Hello,

My Linkstation 220D is flashing Red 7 Times when I turn on the NAS. I've tried putting a new 4TB Seagate drive in, as well as using a 4TB WD Red drive I previously used in the NAS, but I'm not able to see anything at all on my network - the Linkstation just flashes red 7 times each time I turn the NAS on.

The NAS Navigator 2 doesn't show the Linkstation at all, despite being directly connected to my PC via Ethernet.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you.

The OS is on the original disk, so you need the TFTP / recovery image to be loaded onto the replacement disk.
PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.

There's a pinned post describing how to "start over" with blank disks:

Thank you for your replies! I've managed to get it working in the end.

It turned out that the Linkstation wasn't happy with just one blank hard drive being inserted. I put a second drive in, and the Linkstation then appeared in NAS Navigator. I've now removed the Array, formatted the blank drive, updated the Linkstations firmware from 1.70 to 1.75, and now it's happy with the one drive in!

Thanks again for your time in responding to my initial query!
