LS-W2 0TGL/R1-US dead as a doornail
« on: April 26, 2021, 12:03:56 PM »

Dead no power at all.
Tried different
Plug wire outlet etc and nothing at all.

It is my understanding that the machine is basically useless now. What’s the easiest way to get up and running here ?

I have a terra station never used brand new basically.
Is it possible to put the hard drive from the lsw2 into
The terra station

Any suggestions please and thank you

The TS will not mount disks from the LS.
You have to remove all partitions, then the TS can use he disks at new drives.

I never had a demaged linkstation. Buth the 12V powersupply often is damged.

Try an other 12V powersupply from an usb harddrive

The PSU was internal on those unit so not really easily changed.
PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.

oddly enough I have one with a bad flash chip but working power supply if you'd be interested in some sort of swap.

There isn't a good way for you to go directly form the LS to the TS. Your best bet would be to connect the drive(s) to a linux system and back up the data then copy that to the TS after you get it set up.

is it possible this board is bad ? Can I order a new board somewhere if this board is bad and you think it will work

I tried submitting an image of the board but it only inserts >> <<< when I try to insert an image of the board.  in any case the top line of pins looks brown and is on the pins and the green board, almost looks like something was dripped on it but maybe thats just the way it looks when its fried.

?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I was leaning more towards trying to get me to send me yours in the hopes I could combine it with mine and get a working system to test some reboot logic that isn't working right in Debian:
https://github.com/1000001101000/Debian_on_Buffalo/issues/55

The LS-WTGL is about the lowest performance NAS buffalo made, I think your best bet going forward would be to try to get your terastation working and transfer your data over there.... unless you mean an original IDE-based terastation.

Either way I'll see about taking a picture of mine tomorrow.
