I am trying to set up access restrictions using user management. Everything seems to work fine; but when I enter a password, confirm it and save it, the password switches to something completely different (a 20 character password that I didn't enter)

I searched the forums for a solution but didn't find it, I apologize if it's already on here....

What you are getting is normal. Although it may show 20 characters in length (even though i is only 6) this is to protect against someone seeing the password and guessing it based on the amount of characters input.
PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.
