Buffalo Technology LinkStation Pro Duo 2 TB Network Attached Storage LS-W2.0TGL/R1

How can I take advantage of the auto-on/off function?  What steps do I need to take to make this option work with a networked laptop.  I would like the NAS to turn on and shut off along with this laptop.  Thanks.  mb

You'll need to have the NasNavigator version 2 installed on your laptop.

The program will keep in communication with the linksation, once the laptop is shut off or the program is no longer running, the linkstation will shutdown.

On a Win XP machine NasNavi2 seems to be installed only under one user.  If the 2nd user uses the computer the Pro Duo does not seem to power down.  Do I need to install NasNavi for both users?  I have firmware 3.10 and NasNavi2 2.18.

Just to be pedantic, it's the Buffalo "NAS Power Management Service" which seems to wake up, keep alive, and shut down the NAS.  I have both NASNavi2 and the NAS Scheduler unticked in Startup, and do not start them manually.
