Media streaming issue on TS5400

I've just set up my Terastation as a media server, replacing an older NAS. My music player displays the Terastation as an internet music server, but the top level files are displaying japanese characters as opposed to my older NAS displaying  Artist, Album, Genre etc. Upon opening the japanese named files all music etc under this are in English.
Is this something to change under  settings? any help would be appreciated.
