Folder Share Access Rights
« on: April 18, 2018, 06:31:38 PM »
I would like to be able to configure a group on my Terastation 3000 to have Read/Write access but not Modify or Delete. Is there any way that this can be accomplished? I work for a Casino Surveillance Department and it is in our regulations that only specific people can have delete rights for video and only after approval from our COO. Any help you could provide will be appreciated.

The way the TeraStation's rights are set up if you have write access you will automatically have modify/delete rights.

Unfortunately the TS3000 does not have this ability. The newer TS3010 series will allow this but it's a feature that's unlikely to be added to the 3000 series because it is no longer being produced.

The only way to accomplish this with a 3000 would be to use it as an iSCSI target for a Windows host and let Windows create/manage the file system.
