hey all,

having some more problems with my Linkstation. It's connected properly, and all the shares/folders are in order, yet the thing just cant seem to keep connected to the network. changed routers, and ethernet cables, but it always keeps disappearing and reappearing onto the network at will. this continues to happen when directly plugged into a computer as well, and as far as i can see, it seems to be rebooting itself [top light blinks when it's not available from the network]. any ideas what could cause this? or is this a common problem with this model? i've seen a few other cases on the internet, and on this site.

thanks in advance

bally

^----- i dont know about that even being a reasonable answer with out at least troubleshooting it. Sounds like tech support there LOL.. any who.. what is your firmware version? your unit shouldn't do that. Have your check to make sure your power cable is connected all the way and if it is on a power strip to make sure that's not the issue. We will start at the physical level of trouble shooting and work out way down. If you want you can try what the other guy said... though i rather you first check what your firmware is and then if you need to update do so and then follow up with doing a factory restore.

Does this happen at a certain time of day, or when you are doing something to the unit like accessing the data or xfering the data?
Units I own: TS-XL, TS-WXL, LS-WVL, TS-RXL,  TS5400, TS-RVHL,

I don't work for Buffalo but i do love there products enough to help people

Power is provided from a strip, and that's working fine as i have some other network equipment attached to it with no trouble whatsoever. my firmware is 1.30-75 or something like that. in the process of moving so the unit is packed up, but will update once i unpack and set it up again.
