I have an LS421DE that is currently at 1.01 and is reporting in the management screen that it is running the latest version of firmware, and therefore does not offer me th eoption to upgrade, yet I see from this forum that people seem to be running higher versions eg 1.31.    Given that I already have data on the RAID1 drives (currently 33% of 2Tb) how do I force the management functions of the link station to upgrade the firmware.

( I am having a number of problems including loosing connectivity to the link station device from all other client devices (windows7, Linux, iOS), but assume that the first step to to be running current software)

1.01 is not the newest firmware. Use the buffalotech.com site do get your latest. The auto update is either broken on your current firmware or your firewall in your router is blocking it from checking. I'll make it simple. Go here from now on for you downloads for your unit.

http://buffalotech.com/products/network-storage/home-and-small-office/linkstation-421e-diskless-enclosure

Go to download tab, there's everything.
Units I own: TS-XL, TS-WXL, LS-WVL, TS-RXL,  TS5400, TS-RVHL,

I don't work for Buffalo but i do love there products enough to help people
