LS421DE - Cannot Update Firmware

Help! New out of the box LS421DE. Turned on to Emergency Mode. Tried to update firmware ended with the error message "Partition Not Found. Aborting firmware update." Errors with HD in and out.

Follow the setup guide correctly!

Format the HDD in a PC (remove any partitions)
Put it into the Linkstation
Power it up
Wait until you have 2 solid LEDs at the front
Once this happens press the function button quick (for a half a second)
The LEDs will start to flash
Wait 10 minutes.
Once you have a solid white LED the unit is good to go.
