I've upgraded my Terastation 52000D to firmware 2.43 as recommended.
Everything seems to be OK, But I've no more acces to the UI web access.
Data files are accessible.

I've tried different pc's, different browsers, I've checked IP addresses...No success.
BuffaloTech Support said, it is a registred issue for Terastation 5200D  :(
So what else ??

Has somebody found a workaround for this issue ??? whitout waiting for a new firmware ...
Regards

I am experiencing the same problem.

Different computers and browsers make no difference.

Attempted a force re-install of the firmware per instructions on this forum.  I got to the point where is asked for the admin password.  I keyed in the admin password I had been using for several months.  Receiving the message back indicating an incorrect password.  Also tried the factor default password, same result.

Any recommondations on this whoel thing would be greatly appreciated.

How do you roll back to a prvious version?

Will settings and data be lost?

Is the admin password required for that?  (mine appears to have gotten changed during the "upgrade")

same problem.  how do you roll back the firmware?

Must be 5200 only, I just put this on two 5400s and it works.

Try firing up IE and putting  http://<ipaddressoftheunit> into the compatibility view list.

I'd try it on a 5200 and dink with it but Davo stole mine.

I've tried the compatibility option in IE for my Ip address.
No changes.
Same blank sheet on my browser. ( same as for Chrome and Safari)

Another idea ?

Thanks for your replies guys.

I just upgraded my Buffalo TS5800D firmware from v2.42 to v2.50 now I can't get access to the web admin interface. I just get a blank page when I navigate to the home page. Seems to be a long running problem with the Buffalo devices.  The update came out more than 3 months ago with no resolution.  Does anyone that works for Buffalo care?

I wanted to update the firmware because I have a number of directories on one of my shares that I can't delete because of another Buffalo bug. Was hoping that this update would fix the problem.

The error I see is the SERIES_NAME issue reported else ware in this forum.

It's problems like these that never get resolved that give Buffalo a bad reputation in the NAS space. How about supporting your equipment!

I have more than 12 TeraStations in the lab - all the 5000 series run 2.50, and I access them all the time. This is not a systemic problem with the firmware, but specific to your environment, or so it seems. I would reach out to support.

Have you tried multiple browsers or connecting via \\<ipaddress>?

Eastmarch,
I'm still waiting for tech support to respond with an solution for this error. I was hoping that someone in this forum could help me solve this for Buffalo. A firmware upgrade should be a no brainer but it's not in this case. How can some TeraStations work and others not?

The error I get seems to be the result of a missing JavaScript file in the firmware distribution or an incompatible upgrade for the TeraStation Model/revision.

The browser is not the issue, the error is internal to the built in TeraStation web server.

Has anyone seen this error when upgrading the TeraStation TS5800D firmware from 2.42 to 2.50
and resolved it ?

eh, to stop the flame wars, if you search for TeraStation GUI missing, this actually seemed to happen LOADS from 2.40 to 2.42 or from using the WebGUI for ANY of the update's... so its kinda weird to hear you got to 2.42 fine, but it appeared in the upgrade to 2.50... did you use the WebGUI for the upgrade?

either way, id contact support, they will either have you jump through the downgrade downgrade then upgrade hoops or offer to RMA the unit...
