How to affix plastic base to unit WZR-600DHP

It's a brand new WZR-600DHP, just out of the box. The plastic base seems to match the unit, tongue in groove (so to speak), but it doesn't click together in any way. I'm not keen on putting screws in my wall, so I want to stand it up, just like it looks on the box.

Can anyone tell me how? Should there be additional parts? A secret button? Glue?

Thanks,
Sean

See, the base that comes with and the bottom of the unit really seem to want to go together.

They even have tiny matching triangles. But they don't click when pressed together.

I had some spare plastic and epoxy lying around. So, I just built a stand for it.

Probably more stable this way, anyway, but I'd still like to know how this was supposed to work if anyone knows.
