Hi All, I'm hoping you can help.

I have a TeraStation Pro II, have been using it successfully for a few years (it's the 1tb version).

I moved house and between disconnecting it and reconnecting it to my Mac, the connection has gone. In 'finder' window my links are still there, and it also appears under the 'shared' connection. Yet when I click it says connection failed. I then click 'connect as' and I get the following error.

The server may not exist or it is unavailable at this time. Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection, and then try again.

Some facts:

Running OSX 10.8.5
TeraSt is connected via an AirPort and shows link/act as green
Shows IP address 10.0.0.20 on display
I downloaded NAS Navigator 2
This shows my drive and gives the following details - IP 10.0.0.20, volume size 155.7gb / 695.6gb, Firmware 1.05
If I click on the drive in the NAS Navigator I get the same error message as above
The same happens when I open it
If I click "I'm Here" I enter the admin password (which I'm sure I know and had verified by looking in my 'keychain' I get error message ' alert did not respond to I'm here'
I have connected it directly to my Mac via a lan cable, and drive shows a 192.x.x.x. IP address, but does then not show at all in the NAS Navigator 2 screen
If I click on settings on Nas Navigator 2 it open firefox with ip 10.0.0.20 in the address bar, but takes me to Google homepage
If I click on configure in Nas Nav 2, message comes up "this is where you configure your NAS" Configuration is selected from two options of "configuration' and 'IP Address". I click on 'settings' using my admin password and it again takes me to firefox, 10.0.0.20 in address bar and google homepage

If I select "IP Address" DHCP is selected, in IP box it does not have a full IP, as only shows 10.0.0 and the last number box is empty, subnetmask box shows 255.255.255.0 abnd default IP is 10.0.0.138
If I then select "Renew IP Address" I get an error "wrong password" for my admin password - if then my admin password is wrong, I don't know what it is. I am told I can hard reset it on the box back to default, but don't know how?

What else can I tell you..?

Really appreciate your help here all,

Thanks,

Mark

I'm on an apple mac and I've got the Linkstation Duo 4th and I am getting the same message:

The server may not exist or it is unavailable at this time. Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection, and then try again.

Though I havent got any icon mounted and when I try to 'connect to server' it says 'connection failed'.

As the same as Mark any advice would be great as getting mightly p*ssed off with it!

Same problem for me. I bought a LinkStation Pro Due in April this year. My problem started about a month ago. The server keeps disappearing . When that happens, the indicator lights on the front panel are all off.  I check the back, the AC adaptor socket has a dim LED light next to it. That light is on.  The machine seems to shut down itself. If I unplug the AC adaptor, and plug it in again. The machine sometimes restarts okay and appear on the network again.  But that does not always work.

Please give me some instructions on how to diagnose the problem.
