We've a TeraStation Pro II Rackmount (modle TS-RH2.0TGL/R5) with firmware version 1.33.

Today, the IP address of the box reverted from its "normal" setting of 192.168.1.103 (where it's expected to be) to a "default" setting of 192.168.11.150 (don't know where this came from).  This is not the first time this has happened, but it is the first time it's happened while on the current firmware version.

I should note that there are no other administrators for this unit.  Also, IP addresses are assigned using DHCP (which is configured to give the same IP address to any particular MAC every time) and that the DHCP server does not hand out addresses in the 192.168.11.xxx subnet.

Does anyone have any ideas why this is occurring?

Thanks in advance.

The firmware might have crashed. Try holding the reset button on the unit which is behind the door underneith the lcd screen to see if it comes back. You might need to flash the firmware.

Thanks for your response,

Rebooting the unit caused the correct IP address to reload.  However, I'll flash the firmware again just to make sure.

We'll just have to keep an eye on it.

Thanks again.

Well, it happened again!

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

Thanks in advance.

It usually gets the IP from your DHCP server, there might be an issue with this (this is no way of me knowing) why dont you just set a static IP using the GUI of the TS?
PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.
Having network issues? Drop me an email: info@interwebsireland.com and we will get it fixed!

Have i helped you? Buy me a coffee as a thanks!

I agree with Davo on the setting a static IP.  What is the hostname when the IP changes?  Could it be going into EM mode?  Did you flash the firmware?

jburski

Looks like that's the consensus, so that's what I'll do.

Oh, BTW, this is the other device.

Thanks.

jburski

Hostname doesn't change.  What's EM mode?  Firmware is the most current available.

Going to set static IP.

Thanks.
