bios settings

Hi I just bought 8 gb of Buffalo Firestix FSX1066D2C-K4G 4GB 2X2GB PC2-8500 DDR2-1066 Can u tell me what settings in bios I have to change to get 8gb working at 1066 mhz on my vista 64bit o.s. im a novice but I am good at taking directions :>  thanks, Rob

There is a lot more then just one setting, you have to adjust the voltage and the timings, also depeding on what your running you may have to up the voltage of the north bridge as well. 

What ever you do make sure you test it in memtest86 before booting into windows.

In the BIOS, you'll need to set the memory speed to 1066, the Vdimm (voltage) to 2.1V, timings to 5-5-5-18 (or leave them at default and default setting will read the SPD and automatically pick up the timings), and set the CPC to off, or T2 timings.

When setting to new memory speeds, always test with memtest86 (www.memtest86.com) overnight to verify the settings are stable, before booting to the hard drive.
