DD-WRT WHR-G300N possibly dead?
« on: June 27, 2011, 05:48:21 PM »

Hello all,

Last week our neighbors got hit by lightning and it knocked out a handful of our stuff as well, such as this very router.  I bought this router about a year ago and the first thing I did was throw on DD-WRT Firmware: v24-sp2 .  It's worked great ever since lighting struck.  So at first I thought it the problem was just the power adapter, so I bought a new one but to no avail.  Here's what it does..

Power on router with a patchcord feeding it.

All lights flash for a second with the Power and Diag staying on.

The Power light stays on and the Diag stays on for 20 seconds.

After 20 seconds the Wireless light comes on and the Diag light turns off.

The Power and Wireless then stay on, with the router light never coming on.

None of the hard wired ports on the back work, either.  So my guess is that it's the feed port that got fried in my router and it's just not reading that it's being fed from my modem.  This would make sense to be because the same thing happened to that cable modem.  The port from my modem got fried and had to get it replaced.  But, I'm hoping the solution is something I can fix via updates or resets.  Thanks.
