In an earlier post, an admin of Buffalo forum, promised to get NFS in a next update of the TSLive. I want to insist that NFS (and Telnet ?) will be activated in a next update.

I bought the TSLive specially to work with my Dreambox (HD satellite receiver - Linux) which get much better data transfers with NFS, which is necessary for HD content.

My TSL is FV 2.14. This Firmware is of beginning 2008, one year old ... In computer terms, this is veeeeeery old !! Especially for a rather new model.

Reading several posts, some have 1.06 or other firmware. What is the difference and where can I find it ?

I tried the command line to enable Telnet, but without success. "The comm. ... cannot be found."
Tutorials explain to have the needed file locally in the "same folder". What is that ?
Or cd to the file. How/when ? Before or after the command ?

Is there a adapted firmware with both Telnet and NFS enabled ?

Thanks for some help or info.

The moderator will follow this post with the "you'll void your warranty if you mess with anything" message; but it works great for me. I don't know about NTF support. 2.14.102 is the latest firmware.

You're prediction was correct, jfourman :) . We do not provide shell/telnet access and discourage users from making modifications because there are few users that have the knowledge necessary to use a Linux shell without making potentially costly mistakes. Thus, any modifications of the software or hardware will void the warranty and make it very hard for us to support your product.

hvanbel, our moderators cannot "promise" any feature requests. The most we can do is forward the requests to our corporate office. I'm sorry if you've been misled by any posts, and if you could provide me with a link to the post you reference, I will make sure that things are clarified.

You probably saw firmware version 1.06 for another product such as LS-CHL. The versioning for firmwares is different for each product.
