WHR-G300N Can't Find DHCP Server
« on: March 05, 2009, 12:55:56 AM »

I have Comcast w/ a Surfboard 6120 modem.

I just got my rotuer today and it will not find the DHCP server... so no internet.

I have tried powering up the devices and waiting a full minute in every possible order. Reseting the router to default settings and nothing is working.

Does anyone have advice?

This seems pretty **bleep** basic and most routers do this without requiring you to click or do anything.

Please help!

(If I connect my PC directly to the modem everything is fine...)

A new WHR-G300N requires hardwire to a computer to enable the wireless function and configure the DHCP Dynamic/Static IP function in order to be able to talk to the modem.  You can try to use the AOSS button first to let the router make the connection before you hardwire to configure the router connection.
