ls-wxl updater problem....

hi guys,

ive got a ls-wx1.0tl/r1 and am trying to install a new drive...ive spent the last 4 days trawling the forums looking how to sort out the red flashing light problem. ive down loaded the updater programme but for the life of me cannot get it into debug mode..when i click on the gold rings its not showing...what am i doing wrong....when i run the software it says"partition not found......" any help would be much appreciated..as the nas is inching closer to an open window!!!!!!!!!!!
