Just thought I'd let you know. My LS-XL had been working perfectly until I manually flashed 1.62 FW. I had powersaving option between 23:45 and 07:00 working and webaccess. After putting on the new firmware the NAS would become unreachable on the network after long periods. I tried disabling both webaccess and power management but it would still disappear overnight. This morning I've forced rollback to 1.57 and will continue to monitor the box. Are you aware of problems with 1.62 firmware? If not perhaps you need to look into this.

Not sure what you mean By restore?

been happily running 1.57 without any problems after forced rollback. Won't be upgrading again anytime soon

I have the same issue and can no longer access via web access on my iphone app. Can you please tell me how to roll back?

Thank you!

Any response from Buffalo looking into this faulty firmware?

And this makes you think its a firmware problem why? it is possible that after the update your NAS has changed its IP address on the LAN and so your port forwarding rule is not set to the correct IP.

PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.

It could well have been, however it is still using the same ip to log in (192.168.2.10) and I was under the impression that upnp stopped the need to manually forward ports? Forgive me as this is about the extent of my limited knowledge.

I can say, however that since upgrading firmware the web app on the iPhone says 'Could not connect to the server' and if I go to buffalonas and try to sign in it forwards me to 0.0.0.0:40918. I never had to manually change my router settings before the upgrade. I've even tried changing 0.0.0.0:40918 to 192.168.2.10:40918 in my web browser. HELP

try resetting the unit and reconfiguring the web access service from scratch. If it throws up an error when applying the settings then let me know what it is.

Will do.

Just to confirm this is a settings reset so I will have to reconfigure my folder settings etc and not a full restore?

shanecb

Sorry just seen 'web access service' I have disabled it and re-enabled it again?

davo

correct, it should just reset the configuration of the unit but not effect the data, however, make sure you have a backup before proceeding.

Still no joy I'm afraid. Fully reset and reapplied web access settings and still get the error. By clicking the buffalo nas link in the web admin page also still takes me to http://0.0.0.0:40037/" target="_blank">http://0.0.0.0:40037/ whereby the page does not load. This also happens if I go to the website directly. It's like the buffalo site cannot link to my nas since the upgrade?? Although I haven't changed any router settings at all. I will try a router reset to rule it out.

strange, PM me your buffalonas.com name and let me test it from here, on my PC and iPad.

Thanks, got it, same issue, showing here as http://0.0.0.0:40037/" target="_blank">http://0.0.0.0:40037/

Backup your data and reflash the firmware i'd say is the best course of action from here.

Ill do that now. Can I just confirm that to update the same firmware I have to alter the config file that gets downloaded with it? Is there anything else that I need to do?

***just seen the sticky

davo

yeah, just enable the debug options and select forece update and do not check version.
