Why my Terastation WVHL bittorrent client is so slow? Port forwarding is ok, but usually I can reach only 10 kbps max. With utorrent Osx client I can get 600 kbps. I have a Netgear Stora and it is very fast too. I hade the same problem with my old LInkstation, is Buffalo limiting bittorrent download speed? Is there any way to fix it?

Thanks,

Fabio

When you go into the bittorrent interface on the device click on th gear icon to bring up the bittorrent preferences.  There are settings in the Bandwidth section to limit the global download rate.  Make sure a limit hasn't been put in place.

Unfortunately I've tried everything. When I look at my osx bittorrent client I cen see a lot of seed in DHT section, that I cannot find in the terastation client. I think this is the reason. Is there any way to change the embedded bittorrent client?

I've found a way to fix it: got root access, telnet to /usr/local/bittorrent and set "true" dht and lsd in btsettings.txt file. Now is as fast as my desktop client.

Hope this could help.

would you list your firmware revision? Would you send me links to the torrents that were slow? Send to drmemory@buffalotech.com

Firmware revision of my VWHL is 1.11. I had problem with every torrent file, even with the official Ubuntu distro one.

But there is something wrong in btsettings.txt file, because once a day my terastation keep on changing dhl and lsd value to "false" and it return to be slow. Now I've tried to write protect this file with chattr command, hope this will work.

drmemory

thank you for that information, would you send me links to some of the torrents that you are experiencing slow downloads?  send to drmemory@buffalotech.com We need the exact links for duplicating the issue.

BTW, our USA download site has FW 1.10 as the highest revision for that firmware. From what Buffalotech website are you getting FW 1.11?
