Hello, I have a linkstation HS-DH500GL. I am unable to map to the drive, or access the web interface. The LS is getting an ip address from the router, and the NAS software can see it. From suggestions I've seen here I tried to force a firware flash, but it askes for the admin password. The password I used to use as well as the default (password) does not work. Anyone have any suggestions?

At this point I'd say use it to prop open doors.  I'm on my second Linkstation Live (HS-DH500GL).  Both ended up with the same problem.  The web interface hung and then the Linkstation could no longer be found by the NAS Navigator nor by the web interface.

Well, it seems I spoke a little too soon about my current Linkstation.  After forcing shutdown holding the on/off button until it shut down) a couple of times and restarting it the NAS Navigator was able to find it again--but the web interface still did not work, and the firmware indication in NAS Navigator showed nothing.  I decided to force flash the firmware and downloaded the 2.11 version.  (As a note, on my last Linkstation this seemed to turn the thing into a brick, because it never got through the firmware update successfully.)  So it was with some trepidation that I tried it with this one.  To my happy surprise the firmware flash worked and I am up and running again.

Could you define a couple? 2, 3, 4 times you re-booted? Did you allow it come all the way back up (power light stops blinking)? I've tried 3 and 4 times on the reboot but get the same thing. The NAS software sees it, it has an IP addy, but can't accessed.

I had similar problems, so I too flashed my Linkstation with 2.11 firmware, but now all my shared folders are gone, except "Share", and the web interface is in Japanese.  When I tried to change the web interface language to English I get an htmal error.

I'm getting absolutely no help from buffalo on this problem, and so far no one on this forum has helped.  I'm begining to think your advice about using the linkstation as a doorstop is probably the best advice I'm going to get.

I allowed it to come back up each time, but don't remember how many times.  Sometimes it would startup and then start beeping.  In the end I remember starting it in emergency mode (hold reset button while starting up), shutting it down, and restarting it.  Then it responded to pings and was visible in NAS Navigator.  Firmware version was not showing until after I forced a firmware update.
