Linkstation Pro LS-VL False Disk Mount Error in latest firmware

This is a confirmed problem on two different devices now, and both of the latest firmware.  1.56 and 1.57. It reports random false Disk Mount errors:

 

DISK Error Notification

HDD error occurred
Disk(s) the error occurred:"Disk 1"


Disk cannot be mounted.

When I force it back to 1.54, the problem disappears.    It's been reported to Buffalo several times now. Maybe they'll fix it by the new millenium

I've been having the disk error recently with 1.56, this is very frustrating.

Especially since they have since come out with an update that does not address the problem

STILL waiting for the incompetents to fix this.  ANOTHER brand new one.  2 TB this time, newer firmware and the problem is STILL there!

Still waiting for what exactly?! If the disk is not mounting then the unit is faulty.
