Cannot update firmware in EM mode on Linkstation Pro Duo

I have a Linkstation Pro Duo 1TB (LS-WTGL/R1-V3 F/W 3.07).

I was trying to update the firmware to 3.08, but unfortunately Linkstation

crashed during the firmware update.

 

Right now, it is booted in EM mode.  In the NASNavi window, it is displayed as LS-WTGL-EM72E as a hostname, and

the IP is 192.168.1.10/255.255.255.0.

 

I cannot access to the share folder nor works WEB admin.

 

I ran LSupdate.exe to write the firmware v3.08 to Linkstation.

Firmware updte fails with the message "LS-WTGL-EM72E that needs updating wasn't found".

 

Then, I modified *.ini file as follows:

 

[Flags]
VersionCheck = 0

[SpecialFlags]
Debug = 1

 

And after getting into the debug mode of LSupdater.exe

I tried to force the update.

I see the following message and still it does not work.

 

"Could't get an information of LS-WTGL-EM72E that is specified on Combo-box.  updating aborted".

I forgot to add one info.

 

After the first firmware update was crashed, the linkstation was not even detected

in the network after the boot, and showed a symptom of E06 error.

I booted the linkstation from TFTP.  Finally it was booted in EM mode.

Here's where I am now.

Ensure you have the correct firmware version for your unit. I found 2 different Buffalo sites with differing firmware versions when my LS-LGL's went into EM mode.

Also reset the unit, make sure all virus/firewalls are off and set IP address on PC to match default IP address on unit. And run the original install CD. Don't rely on programs that were previously installed.

 

This worked for my units but i had basic linkstations.
