Hi there,

is there a maximum file size?  I need to back up a fairly large unix partition via dd.

I believe XFS has a maximum of 8EB, but I'm not sure about the limitations of either the kernel (I am running firmware 1.04) or smbfs.

Thanks for any pointers!

Paul

You should not have any issues, as long  as you have enough storage space remaining on the unit.

Cool, thanks for the reply.  Just to be 100%, this means I should be able to create one single file of ca. 1.6TB (I have the space) size, right?

Sorry for being pedantic, this is a fairly important data recovery project :-(
