I have a Terastation (TS-1.0TGL/R5) that we use both SMB and AFP shares on a Windows network. It has been working fine for years until yesterday when there was a power failure in which the battery backup failed. When the Terasttaion was powered back up SMB worked fine. However, with afp, we can connect and see the folders but cannot see any files. The unit's settings appear unchanged. What could cause this and can anybody offer any suggestions to fix this?

What's the firmware version of the NAS as shown in NAS Navigator?

I would check to make sure Apple support is enabled for the share folders and AFP is running as a service for the device.  If that doesn't work I would recommend re-initializing the unit, http://forums.buffalotech.com/t5/Storage/FAQ-2-of-5-Force-Firmware-update-procedure-please-read-this/td-p/11011" target="_self" rel="nofollow">force updating the firmware and re-initialize again right after.
