Hi All,

Last night, I accidentally changed a setting with Twonky MediaServer configuration having to do with the general web access to http://myip:9050

Now, when I try to enter the settings page using that address, I get this ominous message on a bright red screen:  "Access is restricted to MediaServer configuration!".

How can I get the access to these settings back?  Hopefully I didn't mess this up forever...

This is relative to the Linkstation Pro Duo LS-W2.0TGL/R1 firmware 3.10

Help!!!!

Try re-initializing the unit and if that doesn't work try a http://forums.buffalotech.com/t5/Storage/FAQ-2-of-5-Force-Firmware-update-procedure-please-read-this/td-p/11011" target="_self" rel="nofollow">force firmware update with the "Delete user config" option enabled in the Debug area.

Thanks for the info.  Two questions:

  1. Will I lose my data and/or configurations if I complete the above initialization or firmware force?
  2. Isn't there anyway to just re-initialize Twonky without messing with the Linkstation settings?

Thanks for your help.

Wonder if anyone at Buffalo can help me about this issue.  Seems like there has to be an easier (and safer way) to fix my problem

Unfortunately, there is not a setting in the GUI that just initializes the Twonky portion of the device.  Whether you will lose data is not a likely scenario but I would suggest a backup to another device if the risk is worth the concern.

There is Joy!!

Forcing the firmware update did the trick.  I followed all the instructions you sent and Twonky web access is back.  Thank you.  I was afraid to complete the re-initialization due to having to spend time resetting everything again so I went straight to the firmware force with debug per your note.

Are there any instructions on how to use this Twonky service?  It doesn't seem too intuitive (maybe its just me).  No matter what I do, nothing is shared?  Does anyone have experience with Twonky?

Let me know if there are any instructions on Twonky.

Thanks again.

If you go to the IP of your NAS with the port 9050 added in your web browser address (e.g. http://192.168.11.150" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://192.168.11.150:9050) to gain access to the Twonky page and then click on Twonky Media Settings there is a support section in that portion of the GUI.
