Hello,

I have just set up two new 2TB Terastation III's.

both of them are joined to Active Directory.

But when adding users to shares the 'Administrator' user does not appear on the add user list!

Can anyone tell me why this would be?

I have a few shares which I need to restirct access only to the network administrator user account.

Since the "Administrator" account is also "hard wired" into the NAS kernel I believe it's excluded from being populated to users.  So you might have to make different user credentials for your administrator account using a different user name (i.e. don't use admin, root, administrator, daemon, etc.)

Thanks for the reply.

Best workaround I've found is to create a domain group in AD with the administrator account in this group.

Then I give that group access to the share through the NAS.
