Network connection lost to Linkstation DUO when doing some config changes or pluging a USB device

Hello,

I own a Linkstation Duo running FW v1.33

The unit looses network connectivity of all its shares when I do some config changes from the web interface, or when I plug a USB device.

Connectivity is automatically restored after 10 or 15 seconds

Is it normal behavior ?

Anyone experiencing this ?

Thanks for your help,

Manuel.

Losing connection temporarily is a normal behavior as the device needs to implement changes and refresh itself to the network.  I would be more concerned if the unit lost connectivity indefinitely after a setting change.  Should be working just fine.

Thanks for your reply...although it is a pity that doing an innocent and unrelated config change will drop the entire IP connectivity to the box !

Is there any improvement planned for the next firmware releases ?

Regards,

Manuel.

Considering that the samba kernel running on the NAS is pretty basic I don't think this is possible at this point.  Perhaps down the road, but as far as I can tell for the immediate future the NAS device won't have the same configuration implementations as a server for a while.  We're not privy to the changes that are going to be made to the units so generally I couldn't say.
