Windows 7 64-bit 1394 Firewire failure HD-CEIU2

I just upgraded to Windows 7 64-bit, and now my HD-CEIU2 external drive doesn't work via Firewire.  The computer detects it, but it says the driver cannot load, and it is unusable.  I connected it via USB, and it seems to work ok.

How can I get this drive working via Firewire?

Does TurboUSB work in Windows 7 64-bit?

Thanks.

Our testing shows that this unit has problems with windows 7, but we're working hard to get it supported.

So can I have an update on this?  Do you plan to support Windows 7 64-bit with this product?

JoeFresco

Any progress?  It's now been 3 months since my post, and I don't see any new downloads that might resolve this issue.

PCPiranha

I do not have any new information at this time.  We appreciate your continued patience.

Please tell me that there is a driver by now.  Windows 7 64-bit has now been out for 8 months.

Generally, I think the drivers for firewire interface aren't provided by us.  For Windows 98 sure but according to the http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/594502-REG/Buffalo_HD_CE1_0TIU2_1TB_DriveStation_Combo_HD_CEIU2.html#specifications" target="_self" rel="nofollow">B&H product page I don't see drivers being supplied beyond there.

The problem isn't the controller.  The driver for the VIA 1394 Firewire controller in my computer loads just fine.  However, when I connect the Buffalo drive, the drive doesn't appear in My Computer or Device Manager for several minutes, although it spins up and Win7 reports "SBP2 Compilant IEEE 1394 device".  Finally, the drive appears in Device Manager as "BUFFALO INC. HDD IEEE 1394 SBP2 device" with an exclamation point in a yellow triangle icon next to it.  When I go into the Volumes tab in the device properties, nothing will populate with the error "Volume information for this disk cannot be found."

I've also tried this in a Win 7 computer that has an Texas Instruments 1394 controller with the exact same result.

I, like you, didn't expect any trouble from a simple mass storage device after upgrading, but here we are.  On top of that, I've been completely blown off by Buffalo as it looks like they never have even looked into it.  This will be my last Buffalo storage purchase.

I'm sorry to hear that but we don't have any drivers available for use (written or not).  Has the computer come out of hibernation or anything of that nature?
