LS-CHL won't recognize my Seagate USB hard drive

I have a new LS-CH1 with firmware version 1.24 and I am trying to connect it to a Seagate USB hard drive formatted with FAT32. I haven't been able to get this to work. I called Buffalo tech support and got a very snippy support tech called Kevin that told me the usb drive has to be formatted XFS before the LS-CHL will recognize it. This is confusing as I have read other posts on this forum that state it will detect a usb drive with FAT32 format. I mentioned this to him and he really did not seem interested in helping at all so I said good-bye and am posting here. Any help appreciated!

Have you looked under the disk management tab in the interface to see if the drive is displayed there.  It should be displayed in the FAT32 format.  Also you can try to to delete the partition so it is in the RAW format and see if that helps to see the device
