[SOLVED] LinkStation BitTorrent issues FIX

Story

 

Hi fellow Buffalos :) I have bought a LinkStation Duo 6TB for storage however the BitTorrent option seemed interesting as I wouldn't have to keep my computer on for downloads. It has 

Firmware version:1.62.

 

Upon adding a torrent, it added it but then it would not work, it would change state to Downloading but nothing would happen, no peers, nothing, while on the computer everything would be working fine, just as reported in several threads around here, including the JS error: [778] Unable to get value of the property '262': object is null or undefined.

 

I have apparently found the solution, as I managed to get it working just fine.

 

The actual problem

As I see it, upon first time adding of a torrent (new unit or new firmware etc), it does not add the trackers from it, thus it would behave as described in most other threads.

 

The solution

Add the torrent as you would normally add it, then, add the torrent on your computer as well in uTorrent application. From the uTorrent, right click on the newly added torrent and go to Properties and copy the trackers. Back on the LinkStation, go to the properties of the selected torrent and paste the trackers.

 

DONE!

 

Next time when you add a torrent, seems it reads the trackers properly.
