Can mediaserver handle several shares?

Is it possible for twonky to publish media other than that which is in the share directory?

I want to set up several folders, ie video, music, photo, and for all of them to be distributed by twonky, but I don't want to put them under this catch all folder of share.

I've discovered the twonky page on port 9050, but I seem unable to browse for other folders to publish unless they are held under /share. Its as if this version of twonky takes /share to be the root directory. How can I make twonky recognise the root filesystem and thus other folders than share?

Any help would be gladly appreciated!

No, only one folder can be the media server folder.

So, why not make a folder labelled media and place sub-directories (e.g. music, movies, etc.) in there?

The reason I don't want to put everything under share is because everything in \share is visible. So for instance I don't want my six year old to stumble across violent sweary films whist hes browsing trying to find his copy of scooby doo!

Anyway, I've got it sorted now thanks. A simple RPC command to twonky to adjust content base allows you to share from root. And using twonky on port 9050 allows you to add and remove which folders you choose.
An RPC call to twonky won't invalidate the warranty will it? I've not telnetted to the box or fiddled with the firmware.

No worries Savageness and I understand your concerns about your child finding content you wouldn't want them watching.  You haven't done anything in my eyes that would void your warranty at this point.  Flashing with a 3rd party firmware would but minor adjustments to Twonky won't.  Enjoy :robotvery-happy:

Hi Savageness.  I've also wanted to share from the root directory.  Can you guide me and others on how you completed the above "simple RPC command to twonky"?   Can you guide me on how you accomplished this?  Thanks...

This just in an RPC via ACP Commander will void your warranty.  No exception.
