WEB Access Restrictions

Hi ,

Somebody help pls.

I have a linkStation-LS-CH, and I create 2 folders (Music1 and Music2).

I don't want anybody to have access to Music1, either at my Home or via web access, so I created a new user and password to restrict acces to this folder. The User name and password I created is the same I have for Windows Log in.

 

I want to have access to Music1 and Music2 on both at home and via Webaccess, but I also want my brother John to have access to MUSIC2 only via Webacces not locally.

 

How do I make this happen?

I tried to create a login and password for John so he can have access to Music2 via webaccess, but when i login under John I'm able to access Music1 too.

 

 

Music1 & Music2  WebAccess settings = Allow All groups/users

 

I have no problems restricting John locally. but via WebAccess he has access for both folders and that is ecxatly what i don't want.

 

Pls help me, i already tried many setting suggested in the forums.

Change WebAccess settings to 'Use Inherited Folder Permissions' will allow people with an account on the LinkStation to access the share remotely only if they have read permissions on the specific share that they're accessing.

Not possible, the restrictions for accessing a shared folder are the same when accessing locally or through web access.
