Hard disk failure onls-gl linkstation

We have a Linkstation LS-500GL the hard disk as gone faulty , we have read several threads on the forum about replacing the copying images on to a new hard disk while the linkstation is in EM mode, using the TFTP BOOT procedure document we download from the forum along with the TFTP program which goes with it .

 

We attached the linkstation to a laptop and switched it on , we run the TFTP Boot.exe file and in the dos box we get the accepted messages

 

Client 192.168.11.150 :1782 (folder location) 2509 blocks served

the same again 2885 block served

 

the screen update displaying these message every few seconds  but nothing else happens

 

we have then tried running the update program that is also in the folder with the TFTP program but it does not find the linkstation .

we can not ping the linkstation either

is there something were missing .
