High CPU load caused by NAS power management driver

Is there a fix to avoid the high CPU load caused by the NAS power management driver? It uses 50% of my CPU constantly. I can kill the process manually but that's not a long-term solution. I run Windows 10 with newest version of NAS navigator 2.

I'm not aware of a NAS power management drive that gets installed in Windows 10 by any Buffalo device, what NAS do you have?

I have a LS210D.

The driver is this: C:\Program Files (x86)\BUFFALO\NASNAVI\nassvc.exe -Service_Execute -dcyc=290 -dto=5 -dluc=0 -dmin=1 -dmax=2 -dflc=0 -apc=0 -log=0 -pm=1 -pall=1 -phttp=0 -pbc=0 -ppro=0 -pcyc=150 -pmin=1 -pmax=2 -pflc=0

And the Task manager service is called NAS Power management service.

I hadn't noticed that before, probably because on the dozen or so systems that I have NAS Navigator installed on it's never been a CPU hog. Try uninstalling/reinstalling NAS Navigator. If you haven't done so, download the latest version from the Buffalo website.

Update: Uninstalled the program and re-installed NAS navigator 2. Same high CPU load started again randomly.
I disabled now the service completely.

The "NAS Power Management" service runs at 50% CPU on my laptop, draining the battery and causing the CPU fan to blow hard. I've set the service to Manual and stopped it, to see if it stays quiet now.

I understand  this thread is over 2 years old, but has this problem been solved beyond the workaround of disabling the service? It happens to me a lot.

I know it has been 3 years since an update on this, but I have the same issue.

I use my laptop in places that my NAS is not...so when I boot up and hear my laptop fans going crazy, I look at the Task Manager and see the NAS Manager Service using 25-35% of the CPU when it should be 0-1%. I am making the assumption that it is going crazy because it can't find my NAS (since it is at my house and I am not), so I kill the process. But this seems like a bug that needs fixed.

I have BUFFALO NAS Navigator2 3.04 (some places it says 3.4...one is a typo, I think) installed (installed on 10/3/2022). I have just updated to 3.11.0 in hopes this solves the issue. I will report back.

Yes, I believe a relatively recent version of NAS Navi did address this.
