Hello,

I've recently encountered an issue with my Linkstation storage device, I'm not able to view the contents of my drive using the "\\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" command via the run menu. I am presented with a normal windows error of unable to find location, however I am able to ping and access my Linkstation via HTTPS/FTP and via the webadmin page. My guess is that the issue with a windows problem however I've not been successful in locating the solution. I am able to access my linkstation perfectly from another computer which has almost identical settings and both have file and printer sharing enabled.

Error message from NASNavigator2 - "Could not open the shared folder , Confirm drive status"

I am currently using the latest firmware 1.21 , so upgrading firmware isn't an option.

Thanks.

Sounds like an issue with that specific computer.  My guess would be to try to start that computer up with safe mode with networking, after disconnecting all the mapped drives under computer.  Then try to remap in the run box and see if you have access there.  Sounds like a firewall issue on that computer.  If it works in safe mode with networking (pressing f8 during startup) then it is some program blocking access to the device.

I would recommend you return the unit for a refund if you can. Buffalo will not help you to get your unit running, as you can see by the post above mine.

Try this:

Go to start->run->services.msc.  Scroll down the list and check Workstation, Server, and TCP/IP NetBIOS helper.  All need to be started, and automatic.
