I'm looking at purchasing either a LS Pro Duo or LS Duo and was wondering if either or both of them will be able to accept 2 x 2TB drives in the future.  I saw on the forum that the LS Pro Duo can only accept 2 x 1TB drives but I would imagine a firmware update could allow for larger capacities.  I could not find much information on the LS Duo and nothing on the max drive size other than the fact that there exists a model with 2 x 1.5TB drives.

Is there any news regarding larger drive capacities being accepted in the future on either of those models?

It isn't supported and hasn't been tested here.  It will probably work, but as a mod I cannot give you a more definitive answer than that.  Maybe one of our other users can help you out further.  You would have to get the firmware back onto the drives using the TFTP software or force firmware update.
