LS-CHL - Forced Firmware, lost entire folder structure and files!?

We had several power outages that caused the NAS to nice at a blinking blue light.  After a couple of reboots, this turned into red blinking code 6 - Unrecognised drive.  I booted the NAS into EM and sent the boot files using TFTP.  After doing this, I ran the firmware update, forcing the install of firmware 1.07 on my LS-CH500L.

I watched the entire process take place in wireshark.  After the reboot I noticed that the LS was trying to get a DHCP address, which eventualy timed out and ended with an auto-ip (169.254).  I put my laptop on the same subnet and attempted logging into the web interface.

I got the Japanese login screen, which I expected from earlier readings.  I muddled through the Japenese interface and changed language to English.

Now for the problem.

All my files are gone.  Everything, gone.  It looks as though the entire NAS is new, the only shares showing up are "share" and "info".  Additionaly, its reporting HDD space used on Disk1 as 0.00GB/458.1GB.

So heres the deal, it looks like it overwrote the XFS file table.... AUGH!

How the hell do I get it back, these are important files.  NEVER once during the firmware force was I expecting it to over-write the the filetable.

What do I do, where do I go from here?

HELP.

If the unit is showing no data and the capacity is showing that then the data is unrecoverable it has been erased.  When you did the nice the boxes "delete user config" or "rebuild partition table"?  As a long shot you can try to make new shares with the same name and attributes as the ones that are missing and see if that can possibly pull up anything.

Affirmative on Delete user config.  Negative on Rebuild partitions.

I expected just that, defaulted config, defaulted firmware and boot, but the filesystem intact.

Hi Kentickler,

I am having (and suffering) the same problem you had. After managing to reboot and update the new firmware I realized that all my files are gone. Did you find any solution or is just imposible to get the information back?

Thanks
