Admin Password Reset and USB Backup Questions

I have the LS-WTGL/R1-V3 firmware version 3.10 (I know it is old, but it still work great).

If I reset the password for the admin account, does that remove any data from the NAS?  Would I lose any access to the shared folders on the NAS?  I don't want to lose any files or lose access to folders, so I want to make sure resetting the admin password won't impact any of the folders or files.  To log back in after reset, would the password be "password"?

If I want to perform a backup to a USB drive to mirror the NAS to the USB, would I select (a complete backup has already been completed, but now new files are on the NAS that are not on the USB drive).  It seems I should select "Overwrite Backup (Differential Backup) so that the USB drive mirrors the NAS.

Thanks for any information you can provide.
