Hi everybody,

I own a linkstation pro duo configured in RAID1. After electrical failure, it shows an e06 alarm during startup. I can't access it using nasnavigator, it is not detected (even in em mode).

Is there a procedure to repair it without loosing all my data? Or first is there a possibility to secure my data on an other drive (access it and make a copy) before reflashing and reconfiguring it?

Thanks for your help and comments

Try this:

to get the kernal loaded so you can flash the firmware.  If it doesn't pull the files then most likely it is a bad HDD.

Thanks for your reply,

If i understand the process linked in your post, the tftp boot allows to reach the em mode then to perform a firmware update. But, if i perform a firmware update, my linkstation will be first configured in raid 0 and i need to change to raid 1 after that. So in that case all my data will be erased.

Is there a way if i reach em mode  (considering that step safe for my data, just tell me if not :smileysurprised:) to extract my data from my linkstation before applying the firmware update?

Doing a firmware update will not erase any data.  Flash the firmware, pull the data off and the change it to a RAID 1...

Hi, I made the firmware update. Originally, the firmware was 3.08 and now it shows 3.09. The process was down automatically and was a success at the first attempt. I did not force anything, just click on the LSUpdater.exe file then update.

I can now see my linkstation using Nasnavigator 2 but it shows raid 0 and 0.0% of the HDD is full. I remind you that originally my linkstation was configured in raid 1.

When I browse the linkstation I find a directory called share but it is now empty. Originally it was called Shared and contains all my data.

What is now the process to extract my data before reconfiguring it in raid 1 again.

I did not try to enter in the web interface, but it surely be now in Japanese. I wait for your reply before doing something wrong...

Thanks for your help.

It looks like there was data corruption as well.  I wouldn't do anything else with the device and I would contact data recovery if you cannot restore from your backups.
