Linkstation Pro Duo via hub?

Just got my Linkstation.

When connected by cable to pc all is fine.

Connecting to ADSL router w/DHCP makes the lower LED turn on. Unfortunately the router has only one LAN port.

Connecting to hub (as other pc's and wireless access point) the lower LED stays off.

Means that it works, only not when connected to the hub. Can't be pinged either.

Question is: Are there any special hub requirements?

I would try a different port and a different cable, this should work fine.  Also try to set the unit on a static IP for troubling shooting purposes.

Thanks!
I did try all these possible connections and settings.
Apparently the Linkstation works fine until connected to any hub port.
Connecting a pc to these ports shows no error, but the station does'nt show a live netcard.
I've ordered a new switch - supposedly this will solve it.
