Does nobody else have this issue at all?

I see tons of "how do I reset my password", but none for "what happens when you set your password and it does not work".

1. Move the power switch to the 'Off' position(rear). The LinkStation Pro Duo will shut down after about 45 seconds.

2. While holding down the function button(rear for 6 sec), move the power switch to the 'On' postion(rear). The Function LED will begin to flash blue.

3. Push the Function button again while the Function LED is flashing.

4. LED on the front will flash Blue, then will turn to Green when process is complete.

Does that not just reset the password?

I can do that, but when I change the password back to what I need it to be, I will not be able to log in again.

PCPiranha

Are you putting in any special characters or spaces?  There shouldn't be any reason it shouldn't work when you set the password.

the only characters that could mess with something are '%', and ':'.

are either of those special chars for the authentication?

PCPiranha

That's most likely the problem.  Try sticking to alphanumeric passwords.
