LS Updater crashes in Vista Professional

I have Windows Vista 64 Professional with SP2 installed.

I have a Linkstation Live (original) 320 connected to a Linksys gigabit router with wireless N.  My computer connects to the network via Wireless-N.

When I run the Linkstation updater to flash to the latest firmware, as soon as I start the installer it immediately terminates with the message,  "Buffalo Linkstation Updater has stopped working."

My Linkstation is available to me on the network.  I'm able to access all of its shares, and am also able to access its web configuration interface (port 80), as well as its external web services (port 9000).  So there's really no problem with the Linkstation Live that I can determine. However, for whatever reason, the updater crashes upon starting it.

Any suggestions?

Try disabling firewalls and hard wireing your computer directly to the linksys router.
