Hi guys just joined up this forum for some help on my Linkstation LS220D. Up until a month or so back I used to be able to acces all my files remotely through the internet webaccess page at work. Now when I try to access remotely through webaccess, I no longer see the default page instead it takes me to a Twonky page. I understand this Twonky is for streaming, for which I have no interest, I simply wish to access my stored docs from my linkstation at home.

I think the software may have updated and this Twonky has suddenly appeared, is there a way of turning off Twonky and getting access to my data back.

Cheers

Check the port forwarding on your router. WebAccess typically uses port 9000 while the Twonky interface I believe is on port 9020. Have you changed routers recently?

N42

Hiya no I have not changed routers recently, but happy to check this eve and confirm, cheers

N42

Hiya happy to confirm am forwarding port 9000 in router. Also when I try to access 'webaccess' I get routed to the following webpage http://192.168.1.8:9000/

Hence I assume port 9000 is working ok

Texturtle

OK, now check the settings in the LinkStation to make sure it's using port 9000 for WebAccess. It's the setting for the internal port, not the external port. You can scan through this article to see where the setting is: http://www.buffalotech.com/knowledge-base/setting-up-webaccess-on-a-buffalo-linkstation

Hi Texturtle can confirm both Nas Internal Port & External Port are set as 9000, also Upnp is disabled.

Also on my iphone when I try to use the webaccess app, I get the message 'Error Destination does not exist'. I'm sure its related to my previous problem too.

N42

Guess what I just changed the Nas internal port in linkstation for webaccess to 9020 and it now works. No more twonky when I log into webaccess and I can now see my stored docs, also can now connect to webaccess on my iphone too.

Wonder why? maybe because i had both Nas internal and external ports as 9000 originally?

Texturtle

The only explanation I can think of is that the router somehow changed which port it was sending to. If your router gets rebooted in the future it may revert to the correct port and cause it to stop working again.

Just popped out and could not connect out of wifi range (3g/4g). just come in and changed both internal & external ports to 9020 and can now connect out of wifi range.

Also just rebooted the router and connection is still working.

Thanks for your help Texturtle, your help narrowed it down to the port problem. I was scratchign my head for weeks :)
