Unit (LS-QV8.0TL/R5) on new network will not reset or show up

 The unit is a LS-QV8.0TL/R5. I have installed 4 formatted 2tb drives. I have repeatedly reset the unit by holding the function key while starting, while it is blinking I press the function key again, the unit sometimes continues to blink for hours or most of the time it blinks blue for several minutes and then the power led blinks red 6 times and then repeats. The software "navigator" does not ever see the unit. I think sometime back I once saw a different ip address briefly show up on the software. I have been unable to recreate that event. Thank you in advance for any help.

The OS is missing from the unit, you need the recovery / TFTP files to get it working.

6 red blinks usually means it found the boot partition but couldn't read the boot files. It's usually 7 blinks if it doesn't find a boot partition. When you say you formatted the drives does tis mean you formatted them in windows or something? If so that all makes sense.

I'd guess the time you saw it on an alternate IP address you hit function at the right time for it to go into TFTP recovery mode.

You would want them completely blank rather than "formatted" for your starting point.
